Book Fairs and Expos

What better way to show off your newly published book than at a book fair? Marketing your book at a book fair is a great way to get exposure to booksellers, librarians, agents, the media, and more.  Your book is displayed at the show and is also included in the book fair catalog.  This catalog is a valuable tool that book buyers use when they’re making their annual purchases.

Bologna Book Fair, Bologna, Italy

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the most specifically targeted: if you’re trying to reach media, booksellers, publishers, agents, authors, illustrators, distributors and more all interested in children’s books and media, then this is the show for you.

London Book Fair, London, England

The London Book Fair represents one of the best opportunities (literally) in the world to market your books in a business to business atmosphere. LBF generates an average attendance of 25 thousand decision makers in the international distribution, publishing, bookselling, library, and other publishing related industries.

American Library Association Annual, Washington, DC

Along with being the largest and oldest library association in the world, American Library Association also hosts the largest library event in the world with their Annual conference. Larger than the midwinter conference, ALA Annual garnered over 28 thousand in attendance in 2009. ALA Annual draws a national audience of collection development, library directors, librarians, and more from public, private, school, university, research and specialty libraries.

Beijing Book Fair, Beijing, China

With over 1 billion citizens, China is one of the largest markets on Earth. As such, they represent a lot of possible book sales. Whether you’re hoping for book sales, rights sales, translation or distribution opportunities or more, BIBF is the place for you. The Beijing International Book Fair is the best venue to break into the Asian Market, generally garners attendance upwards of 200 thousand.

Frankfurt Book Fair, Frankfurt, Germany

Simply put, the Frankfurt International Book Fair is the largest and most important book fair in the world. While some might top Frankfurt’s 250,000 in attendance, the multi-hall, mile long fair ground in Frankfurt hosts the largest contingent of publishing professionals of any book fair anywhere. Hall 8 is the English Language hall of the fair, allowing you to market your titles to the largest gathering of publishers, agents, authors, distributors, translators, journalists and more of any venue on Earth.
